Hey, let’s get your nights back.
I know you’re tired and doing your best.
You’re in the right place.
Let's make the sweetest bedtime memories.
Let's make the sweetest bedtime memories.
Welcome to Because of Bebé
I’m so glad you’re here!
This stage of life is beautiful, yet it’s one of the hardest things you will ever do. Your heart melts when they smile for the first time, when they wrap their chubby little arms around your neck with the tightest squeeze. You can’t even believe they didn’t exist just a short while ago. Nothing prepares you for those heaven-sent moments.
But you know what we’re also unprepared for? The in-between moments—the confusing, exhausting, overwhelming, and desperate ones. From navigating sleep, postpartum, breastfeeding, and childcare to returning to work, it’s no wonder we sometimes find ourselves daydreaming about life before parenthood.
And then we’re told …
“He should be sleeping through the night by now”
“You need to supplement, you’re not making enough milk”
“She needs to learn to self soothe”
“They just cry for a few nights. It’s hard, but worth it”
“You need to follow a strict EAT, PLAY, SLEEP schedule”
“You’ve been breastfeeding for too long”
“Sleep training was the best thing we ever did”
And it’s everywhere — Baby Boomer grandparents, friends with kids, friends with no kids, pediatricians, coworkers, and even social media influencers — everyone has an opinion or solution they swear by.
Yet, amongst all the noise, you rarely hear: “How was the baby’s birth?” “Tell me about your toddler’s personality.” “Besides sleep, what else could improve?” “Is breastfeeding painful?” Or “What shape are your nipples in after a feed?” All of which, when assessing sleep and breastfeeding challenges, unlock certain pieces of the puzzle.
Unfortunately, popular traditional sleep training methods like Cry It Out (CIO), Ferber, and Pick-up/Put-down ignore the causes in their one-size-fits-all approach — leaving it to chance that the issues will just vanish on their own or, worse, require repeated sleep training interventions. For instance, an inefficient latch or formula choice may impact overall comfort; a low iron count could make sleep restless; or an undiscovered sensory input might be what tells their nervous system to relax at bedtime. These are just a few examples of sleep disturbances that sleep training will never remedy.
I believe that as parents, we always want to do what’s best for our child: to get to the root cause, to seek multiple opinions, to try an array of possible solutions — and sleep should be no different. You have the answers; you just need help navigating to the right solution. And that’s where Because of Bebé comes in!
So, how is this different than sleep training?
Parent-Child Led Sleep Changes
At Because of Bebé, we are experts in the physical and emotional development of your child- lactation, common and unique sleep disruptors, sleep optimization, the importance of the parent-child relationship, sensory needs, attachment theory, and more. All while understanding and respecting the pressures and demands of life, as well as your innate intuition as a parent.
We work with you to discover the sweet spot between what is developmentally appropriate for your child and your goals as the caregiver. We will never prescribe a solution that can be Googled. Each one of our clients has a unique roadmap toward more rest and less stress, and we help you make changes to achieve that goal.
This is NOT: controlled crying, cry it out (CIO), Ferber, the Chair Method, separation, premature weaning, strict schedules, going against your gut, or having you suffer until it gets better.
Sleep Training
Sleep training is a behavior modification technique used to address a variety of sleep problems. The general concept is that the baby is put down for bed, they cry, the parent either does not respond or limits their response, and eventually the baby stops signaling and sleeps through the night. Typical methods involve crying, separation, withdrawal, cutting night feeds, and time-interval check-ins. Sleep training may also be referred to as “gentle” or “responsive,” and has recently been rebranded as “sleep learning.”
Sleep training is NOT: a schedule, a bedtime routine, moving the baby to their own room or transitioning to a toddler bed, sleep associations, or providing comfort and love with no restrictions.

From the Blog
I’m Maryam - Your new BFF and forever Big Sis
I’m an aerospace engineer (what?!), turned certified pediatric sleep specialist and breasting educator. Most importantly, I’m a mom of two who are wildly different when it comes to sleep, temperament … really everything. I’ve been in the trenches of motherhood- whether as a stay-at-home mom (SAHM), working for a Fortune 500 company (both remote and full time in the office), or starting my own business. There is no one who understands all of life’s challenges and the importance of being well rested and enjoying parenthood.
I have helped thousands of parents navigate early wakes, bedtime battles, parental preference, weaning, dropped naps, and diagnosed sleep disruptors.
And what do all of these parents have in common now? They look forward to bedtime and are finally able to enjoy a show and their favorite late-night snack without a little human next to them!
